TEACHERS SERVED

School2Home (S2H) is a statewide program that integrates computing and broadband technologies into teaching and learning at low-performing schools throughout California. The program aims to close the Achievement Gap and Digital Divide by providing a systemic approach to improving education.

School2Home started in Northern California in 2020. The program is sponsored and managed by SVEF and the California Emerging Technology Fund.

We collaborate with local districts and school leadership to increase engagement for parents who lack the ability to be involved in the school life of their children and do not have high-speed internet access in their homes.

School2Home works with 539 underperforming middle schools in California as the first step to providing their students with the digital tools needed to be successful at home and at school.

These students mostly come from households that have not acquired computers or adopted broadband, making it difficult for schools and teachers to incorporate technology into classrooms to teach modern-day skills.

SCHOOL2HOME PARTNERS

The Global Partnership Exchange program is a collaborative effort between SVEF and the Santa Clara County of Education to connect our School2Home middle school students to others like them from around the world.

The project aims to provide students with first-hand experience learning about international cultures, enhance their language skills and develop both self and cultural awareness.

SVEF is partnered with the City of San José Mayor’s Office of Technology and Innovation and CETF for the San Jose Digital Inclusion Fund with the goal of working with community organizations and administering grants of more than $24 million over 10 years.
