Temporary Program Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Temporary Program Assistant, you'll be at the heart of SV[e]F's work helping bring our [CS] Innovate (Computer Science) and Elevate [Math] programs to life. You'll work alongside a passionate Programs Team to plan, organize, and run program activities while nurturing the relationships that make our work possible. This is a hands-on, collaborative role where your impact is felt directly by the students and educators we serve.

This position follows a hybrid schedule, typically three days in the office and two days remote. Once summer programs begin, the role transitions to primarily site-based work, with the majority of time spent at school and program locations throughout the region. Flexibility and reliable transportation are essential during the program season. 

This is a temporary position that will run through July 31, 2026.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

What You’ll do


Program Coordination

● Coordinate day-to-day logistics with school districts, teachers, and community partners

● Assist in student recruitment efforts, including creating outreach materials, managing registration, and coordinating family engagement activities

● Ensure programs run consistently and at a high standard, and support data collection across all initiatives

Data and Systems

● Maintain data integrity in Salesforce and leverage tools including SMS, G-Connector, and FormAssembly

● Ensure all assessments and surveys are functional and ready for students

● Collect, prepare, and standardize data to report on student and program impact; store data securely in compliance with legal requirements

● Support qAssess facilitation to enhance the assessment process Summer Programming Support

● Collaborate with the STEM Summer Programming team to support partnership needs and execution plans

● Manage assessment administration, material distribution, Salesforce integration, teacher portals, and data management for summer programs

● Gather stakeholder feedback through Feedback Collaboration surveys

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

What We’re Looking For


Required Qualifications

● 3+ years of college or equivalent experience in project coordination preferably in an education setting

● Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity simultaneously

● Analytical mindset and creative approach to problem-solving

● Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including volunteers, school staff, agency personnel, and community partners

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills

● Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed

● Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite

● Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation; periodic regional travel required


Preferred Qualifications

● Knowledge of Computer Science programming concepts

● Experience working in or with nonprofit organizations

● Background in education, whether through teaching or advocacy


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Occasional physical activity may be required for related events such as lifting, carrying, and transporting materials, supplies, or equipment, and setting up displays.

TRAVEL

This role may require occasional travel to event sites for setup, preparation, or support of program initiatives. SV[e]F will reimburse employees for mileage that is incurred while driving their own vehicle on SV[e]F business outside their normal commute in accordance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations. The normal commute is traveling between an employee’s home and SV[e]F’s offices.

PREFFERED START DATE AND SALARY PARAMETERS

● Preferred start date: April 6, 2026

● Salary commensurate with experience. Hourly Range: $28-$30.00

● Benefits offered in compliance with federal and CA state laws. Working additional hours or approved overtime does not change the status of the position or eligibility for benefits
