POSITION SUMMARY
About Elevate [Math] at SV[e]F
Silicon Valley Education Foundation (SV[e]F) partners with school districts across the Bay Area to deliver Elevate [Math], a summer program that helps rising 3rd–10th grade students build confidence, strengthen math skills, and prepare for their next course. Our mission is to advance equitable STEM education that inspires and prepares students for college and careers.
Position Overview
Work alongside teachers to support math learning, lead college-readiness lessons, tutor students to build
confidence, and help create a positive summer experience. This role is a great fit for students interested in teaching, STEM, youth leadership, or community service. This is a temporary summer position.
LOCATION & WORK SCHEDULE
25+ sites are located throughout the Greater Bay Area, with many in East San Jose.
Assignments are based on your location. Program length may vary slightly depending on the assigned site.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Support math instruction and student engagement in two Elevate [Math] classrooms
Serve as a positive role model and encourage participation.
Lead 2–4 college-readiness lessons per classroom (curriculum provided).
Provide targeted support using High Dosage Tutoring lessons (training provided).
Assist with program logistics, such as attendance, materials, and transitions.
Reinforce classroom norms and support productive discussions.
Offer basic tech support for learning tools.
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE OF
Currently enrolled in college or recently graduated.
Interest in youth development, education, or STEM.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Classroom or tutoring experience is preferred but not required.
TB test & fingerprinting for new hires (costs reimbursed).
COMPENSATION
Elementary and Middle School Programs: $2,552 total (19 class days + 3 training days)
High School Extended Hour Programs: $3,915 total (24 class days + 3 training days)
$50 referral bonus for any referral who completes the program
