This event re-ignites the community’s commitment to revolutionize mathematical pathways through the lens of the California Mathematics Framework. Your support provides bold and innovative professional learning space to STEM educators elevating our students furthest from access and opportunity!
Tickets are $299 / person. We accept purchase orders from all schools, businesses, and organizations. All proceeds are tax deductible and support will go towards teachers of mathematics having access to high quality professional development to educate STEM lessons for students furthest from access in Silicon Valley and beyond.

Keynote Speakers

Dr. Christopher Emdin
Professor, USC / Author / Consultant / Speaker / Designer / Change Maker
Dr. Christopher Emdin is the Robert A. Naslund Endowed Chair in Curriculum Theory and Professor of Education at the University of Southern California; where he also serves as Director of youth engagement and community partnerships at the USC Race and Equity Center. He previously served as Director of the Science Education program at Teachers College, Columbia University and alumni fellow at the Hip-hop archive and Hutchins Center at Harvard University. He has served as STEAM Ambassador for the U.S. Department of State and Minorities in Energy Ambassador for the U.S. Department of Energy. Dr. Emdin holds a Ph.D in Urban Education with a concentration in Mathematics, Science, and Technology; Masters degrees in both Natural Sciences and Education, and Bachelors degrees in Physical Anthropology, Biology, and Chemistry. He is the creator of the #HipHopEd social media movement and Science Genius BATTLES. He was recently named one of the 27 people bridging divides in the United States by Time magazine. He is the author of numerous award winning works including the award-winning book, Urban Science Education for the Hip-hop Generationand the New York Times bestseller, For White Folks Who Teach In the Hood and the Rest of Ya’ll too. His latest books, Ratchetdemic: Reimagining Academic Excellence and STEM, STEAM, Make Dream are currently available wherever books are sold.

Sunil Singh

Sunil Singh was a math, science, physics, and English teacher for 19 years, teaching in various high schools, ranging from the most socio-economically challenged one in Toronto to an International IB School in Switzerland. He is the author of three books, Pi of Life: The Hidden Happiness of Mathematics, Math Recess: Playful Learning in an Age of Disruption, and Chasing Rabbits: A Curious Guide to a Lifetime of Mathematical Wellness. He has delivered many keynotes on the importance of storytelling/narrative/history in mathematics. As well, he has given dozens of workshops on the importance of curiosity and play, weaving in rich mathematics with our natural awe and wonder. Some of the places include The Museum of Mathematics in New York City and The Fields Institute at The University of Toronto. He is an international speaker who has given webinars in South Africa and the UK, and was invited by The United States National Commision on Mathematics Instruction in 2021 to give a webinar on Culturally Responsive Mathematics.
