John Fensterwald, our Journalist in Residence, was an editorial writer for the San Jose Mercury News for a dozen years, writing extensively about public schools, education policy, and California's monumental effort to reform its K-12 system. He has been in and out of classrooms and school board meetings for 30-plus years as a newspaper reporter, editorial writer and parent.
