Teaching Assistant

About SVEF and SUTA
The Silicon Valley Education Foundation (SVEF) focuses on improving student performance in the critical areas of math and science. Our goal is to make Silicon Valley the number one region in California for students graduating from high school and going on to college or into vocational careers that are needed in our region.

Stepping Up To Algebra (SUTA) is a 19-day intervention program designed to help students successfully complete Algebra I in 8th grade, as well as to increase student aspirations to go to college. The program is taught by a credentialed teacher and supported by a college-level teaching assistant. We are looking for enthusiastic teaching assistants to work closely with the credentialed teacher to deliver engaging lessons that will increase students’ math skills and understanding. Teaching assistants also serve as a mentor to motivate students to succeed now, and in their future.
