Empowering Students

Silicon Valley Education Foundation (SVEF) believes in improving public education by empowering students with the programs and resources they need to prepare for college and career success. We believe that with the proper guidance and placement into A-G courses, more students throughout Silicon Valley (especially those attending schools in underserved neighborhoods) will be capable of completing a college education.

Student Programs

SVEF works with all 32 Santa Clara County school districts, delivering essential science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education programs and resources to prepare students for high school and college success. Stepping Up to Algebra (SUTA) is a year-round program that helps ensure incoming eighth students are ready to succeed in the important course of Algebra. Past year studies of SUTA student graduates show double-digit growth in math proficiency in post-course test results. Stepping Up to Science, a new summer program, provides incoming ninth grade students with the extra science education they need to successfully complete their first A-G science course in grade nine during the school year.

By working directly with students in the classrooms, hosting college visits as well as college information nights for parents and students, SVEF aims to improve student focus, performance and enrollment in post-secondary education.
