Are you concerned about the quality of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education in the state of California? Do you have an exciting way of engaging math and science students in the classroom? Have you been hoping to tell your story about STEM?
Join leaders in STEM education to highlight interesting, unique and fun ways of bringing math and science classrooms to life. Submit your idea in a 60 second video to www.stemposium.org by January 31, 2011 (for a chance to get feedback and resubmit) or February 14, 2011 for the extended final deadline. You will have the chance to be one of 20 presenters at a STEM Symposium - the STEMposium! - on April 1, 2011 at the California Academy of Sciences. Five innovators will have the chance to win up to $5,000 each in prizes at this event - a total of $25,000! Send us your thoughts and change the face of STEM education.
We've created a contest within a contest! If you are a public school teacher or student in Silicon Valley, submit your STEMposium innovation video by 10 p.m. on Monday, February 7 and send an e-mail to amy@SVEFoundation.org. You could have the chance to receive an innovation grant for up to $500 for resources for your classroom!
Need some help getting started? Have no fears, we are hosting a free workshop to get you off the ground!
