H. Raymond Bingham is the Pioneer Business Leader award recipient for 2005. Raymond has served as a TriNet chairman since 2008. He is a Chairman of General Atlantic LLC, a global private equity firm with more than $15 billion under management, and serves as co-head of its Palo Alto office. Raymond is also SVEF's board member.
Raymond's distinguished career has spanned more than 30 years in industries including high tech, chemical engineering and hospitality, with accomplishments in global trade, mergers and acquisitions and building businesses in developing countries. Prior to joining General Atlantic in 2006, Bingham has served as chairman and chief executive officer at Cadence Design Systems, the world's leading electronics design automation (EDA) software company. Previous to that, he held various senior executive management roles with the Marriott Corporation, Red Lion Hotels and Inns, Agrico Overseas Investment Company, and N-ReN International.
In addition to TriNet, Raymond currently serves as a director for Oracle Corporation, Flextronics International Ltd., and STMicroelectronics. He has served as a member of The Business Round Table, Chairman of the Board of the Electronic Design Automation Consortium (EDAC), and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group.
He also has a lengthy history of community involvement with a focus on education. Both of Bingham's parents were teachers and Ray understands the value of creating an environment for learning that is so often missing in the homes of urban children. Bingham received a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Economics from Weber State University and holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
